Year 1, Pre-K: Okay…..let me tell you I was LOST on what to make for the carnival my first year! I wanted it to be neat….but still cute. Functional but not in the way at someone’s house. And most of all EASY for 4 year old to do!
My idea? Flower pot! Below are the steps to make one yourself!
Step One: Buy a flower pot that is big enough to house all of the class’s hand-prints. One of my wonderful room mom’s went and got a plastic terra cotta look a like one.
Step Two: Buy some paint in your school colors. Our were Royal Blue and Yellow. Also buy a sharpie, post-its, sharpie, foam brush, and a plastic paint.
Step Three: Write each child’s name on a sticky note so that way when the paint is wet you can stick it next to it. You will not know who’s is whose otherwise!
Step Four: Have a paper plate with one color and a paper plate with another color. Take a foam brush and put a color on the kids hands. Press onto flower pot. I had one kid TERRIFIED of doing this….it was fun!
Step Five: Hold the kids hands up in the air and march them to the nearest sink before they get any paint on anything.
Step Six: When all is said and dry, take a Sharpie and write each kid name on their hand. Around the rim you can write either a nice verse, or in my case the name of the school, year, teacher, etc.
Step Seven: Have your kid play in it….
Step Eight: After I got her out of it, I put some dirt and some mums in there for a nice fall look!
Ours went for around $60!
