Flash Back Friday Plastic Charm Necklaces
Alright all you kids of the 80 remember these?
Awesome plastic charms that hooked onto bright lightweight chains ( also plastic) and the charms had little jingle bells attached to them. So cute! It was one of the most colorful accessories of the early 80′s! Terrific paired with jelly shoes and kooky slouch socks and those vivid short sets. The charms came out around 1984 and caught on quick as Care-bears and soon everything was charming ( pun intended ). Charms came in all kinds , Pvc , plastic , rubber . The amount of charms determined our popularity, as with eighties hair the bigger the better! if I remember right they made plastic belts that the charms from as well.
My favorite ones were the lipstick, baby bottle and wrench. I wish I would have kept mine, I could sell it for a fortune on eBay now or maybe just wear it around town! Did you have one? What was your favorite charm?
Don’t forget to link up on our first ever Linky Party “The Sunday Shot” right here on Sunday!

Let me introduce myself… I’m Kelly, Thursday’s Dream Girl.

I have run the gambit so to speak; career woman, single mom, married my hero, had twins and now I’m a stay at home mom, which is by far the most difficult. The other day I realized I’m still strategic planning and proposing budget cuts just on a smaller scale with a more personal outcome!
I love to be creative, it’s my passion, whether it’s decorating my home, wrapping a gift, or turning a box into a castle with duct tape, which by the way is one of my favorite things! I have it in all colors and swear you can fix just about anything with it.
I am so excited to share my ideas and hope they inspire you to try some!

Save The TA-TA Holders......
But for me.....this was a great idea!
I am out of town right now....visiting family. We live 9 hours from our children's 13 grandparents....that's right...13.....so we are getting in some much needed grandparent time!
I was at my in-law's house and I was talking to my mother-in-law while she was doing laundry and I saw her do something that I NEVER do while doing laundry!
She grabbed a bra and did the clasp in the back before throwing it into the washer!
I watched her do that......and I was like....."Wait a second.....why in the heck did you do that!?!"
She simply replied....."So the hooks don't get bent or ruin the clothes."
Let me tell you....it was like a light bulb went off in my head!
What a simple solution!
I hate garment bags, frankly I don't think that they actually get everything really CLEAN!
Also, I hate spending so much money on a good bra only to have one of its hooks get all bent out of shape!
I REALLY hate it when you buy a nice shirt or sweater and have it get snagged or ruined because of the hook on your bra!!
So.....you might all being doing this......I might be the only stupid one left that has just found this out! But, man if you are going to spend a lot on decent bras....it is nice to do something simple to save the suckers!
Until next time.....
Have great dreams.......Juice Box Style!
These are a few of my Favorite Things….
Today I would like to show you my top 5 favorite things around my home. I wish I would have taken a photography course because my pictures do not do my Favorite Things justice!
1. My hutch.
I use to NOT be a fan of this hutch but it matched the table. You know the table….farm table with white legs and wood top….they were EVERY where. EVERYbody had one. Anyway, I decided to embrace this hutch instead of throwing it out. First, I changed what I had inside the hutch. I LOVE the white on white.
I also changed the knobs which totally changed the look of the hutch.
Old knob.
New knobs from Hobby Lobby, half price, of course. I might someday paint or stain the wood grain around the top and middle to make it even more wonderful.
2. Petite Lamp
I bought this lamp at the dollar store many years ago. I bought some foo foo trim at Wal-mart and hot glued it to the shade. This lamp has made it’s way around my house. Currently it’s in my master bathroom. I hope to find a new home for it soon.
3. Love Birds
I bought this cute little pair at the Goodwill for $2 a few months ago. My intentions were to paint them white like so many I’ve seen flying about the internet. But the longer they sat there the more I loved them just the way they are. They have found a permanent nest on my bookshelf.
4. Picture Perfect
Before I ever had children I envisioned a great big picture above my fireplace mantel. In that picture were 3 kids holding hands walking away (all you could see was the back of them). So all these years later I had to have that vision captured. We could never get a picture of them walking away BUT we got one of them walking toward the camera. Which is way better because you can see their precious faces.
5. It’s all in the name
My friend’s grandmother made her a crocheted name picture when she got married. I made her promise that day to have her grandmother make me one if I ever got married. Fast forward many years later and Surprise! my sweet friend and grandmother delivered. My house doesn’t exactly match the picture but this name picture will ALWAYS have a special place in my house. It is definitely one of my FAVORITE pieces in my house and the piece that inspired this post.

Today I am going to show you how to organize the endless rolls of ribbon us crafters seem to accumulate. (Please ignore my dishes in the kitchen, doing this tutorial for you was way more important!) I want to say I didn’t think this up all by myself I first saw it here on Pinterest and was like duh why didn’t I think of that.
Most of the tutorials I have been doing you can use things you have around the house. But today to do this tutorial you need this bin sold at Wal-Mart. They come in a variety of sizes. This one was $3.00 at my Wal-Mart. It measures on the inside 12x15x7
You’ll also need a 5/16 inch dowel rod. I also got this at Wal-Mart. It comes from there in a four foot length.
Cut the dowel rod the length of the bin plus one inch, so you will have some to over hang and keep it in place.
Insert the dowel into the hole of your choice through one side. For most ribbon rolls the third hole on the second row from the edge works perfect. The dowel rod I got fit in the hole very snugly.
Feed the ribbon rolls on to the dowel and feed through to the other side.
Next feed each of the ribbon rolls into the holes. Awesome and organized!
After doing this I discovered that the roll move around quite a bit, so I added a rubber band to each end. This worked like a charm. I may go back and add rubber bands between each roll.
I had some ribbon that was on smaller rolls or just loose so I added a bin and baggie to help contain the excess between my two rows of ribbon.
Last I added a piece of ribbon about a yard long to the side of the bin and attached a pair of scissors to the other end. The next time I need a piece of ribbon I won’t have to hunt for the scissors, just snip and go.

You Should Get Cozy with Cozi!
Today I’m going to post about my most favorite website in the entire world wide web! It makes my life more simple, saves me tons of times.
What is Cozi:
Cozi is the #1 free online calendar designed especially for busy families. It's a central family organizer the whole family can access from any computer or mobile application. The website allows you to keep track of your family’s schedule in one, easily managed and accessible location. It’s features include a calendar, to-do and shopping lists, messaging service, family journal, and photo screen saver.
Once you create a Cozi account, you can set any or all of these up – and access them not only from any internet-accessible computer, but from your cell phone as well. There are also apps available from IPhone and Android which are, that's right FREE! You can also access your online calendar and shopping lists at m.cozi.com from your BlackBerry or Windows smartphone.
What this allows you to do, is add appointments to your family calendar right from the doctor or dentist office via your mobile phone – and see them from your family PC when you get home. Shopping lists that you create while at home or work, can be sent to your mobile phone or pulled up on your app, so you can check items off from the grocery store. And each family member can share memories or other special moments by jotting down a note in the family’s journal.
There are several features to Cozi, they include:
- Family Calendar
- Customizable Lists
- Reminders and Messages
- Mobile Access
- Family Journal
- Photo Collage Screensaver
- Outlook Sync Ability
In the Family Calendar feature, each member has a different color. This is so nice because you can assign appointments to certain people and recognize the color when you look at the calendar. It’s visual – I’m a visual kinda gal. You can also add every member of your family as a user with Cozi so they can add their own appointments.
If you are a FlyBaby, chance are you have heard of Cozi. The Flylady fully indorses this website and now has all of her Zone list, missions and flight plans integrated to the list section.
My take on Cozi:
I have been using this family management system that allows all of our schedules to appear on one calendar color-coordinated for years. We have many schedules, games, appointments and craziness to manage with our 4-family household. Well, Cozi DOES IT – and it’s all FREE!!!
I print each week on Sunday evening. I put it on my refrigerator for everyone in the family knows what is going on. I sometimes even get extra ambitious and put the menu for each night on calendar. I used this app on my phone each and every day!
What do you use to manage your schedule? Have you tried Cozi before? What are your thoughts? It really is amazing, and even more amazing because it works and it’s FREE!
****I was not paid for this post just my opinion!
